Published on Jan 27, 2014Europe’s most active and tallest volcano has erupted, spewing smoke into the air and red-hot lava flows down the snow-covered mountain. No damage was reported although nearby Catania airport was closed briefly. Residents living near the volcano usually face no danger although they usually have to deal with cleaning after an ash shower.
