Why I Stand With Israel

Let’s go over the scriptures about Israel again.  I’ve had some comments that question that.  Some are quite hateful saying that I will go to hell for my stance on Israel, others just curse me.  I stand with Israel and the Jewish people, always will.  I will not debate this.  I will not change my mind.  I spent years asking for guidance and understanding this.  I was amazed at all the scripture that is devoted to this even in the New Testament.  Our country was founded on Judeo-Christian values I don’t care what the Liberals say, I will not argue that.  Of course I would like for everyone to recognize the Messiah, and turn to Him, but it is not my Job to judge the Jewish people.  And I don’t even want to hear that the current Jews are not Jew’s.  They worship the same God as we do, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  It’s in the Bible.  It begins in Genesis chapter 12.  And it’s quite clear.  There is also a table of Nations there and geneologies.  It’s quite extensive.  I suggest you start there.  I could spend pages on this, but unless you study with God’s guidance you won’t accept it.  It goes into detail about Isaac and Ishmaal, and the promise.

What I want to concentrate on is in the New Testament.  Jesus called Saul from Tarsus (Paul) to deliver his message first to the Jew then to the Gentile.  Paul must have had a lot of confused people about how to reconcile Jewish Faith with Christianity and the Messiah.  He spends a lot of time on this.  But before we get into what Paul taught, we have to move back to Zechariah.  He prophesied of the end times, and he had this to say about it.  In fact (now I’m interpreting) he said this of acceptance of the Jewish people in the end.  And frankly I see this happening now.  Zechariah 8:23  “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In those days ten men from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.”

More and more Christians and others are beginning to recognize that our Faith started with the Jewish people.  If it hadn’t been for them, we wouldn’t have our Faith today.  They kept the faith in God, and recorded it.  At times it would have been easy for them to throw it all out and go with whatever pagan views were popular, but God always saved a Remnant as in Daniel and the other prophets.  This was done so that the prophesies of the Messiah could be preserved and fulfilled.  I know some will disagree with that but that’s the way it is.  Now on to Paul. (I list the scripture but sometimes I will go beyond the verse listed because it is important also, and I have used the NIV I know most like the KJV but for simple understanding, I’ve chosen this.)

  • Romans 1:16-17  ‘I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes; first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written:  ‘The righteous will live by faith.’
  • Romans 10:12 ‘For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’  ( I recommend reading this whole chapter)
  • Romans 11:2  ‘God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew.  Don’t you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah-how he appealed to God against Israel.  Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me.  and what was God’s answer to Him?  “I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”  so too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.  And if by grace, then it is no longer by works, if it were grace would no longer be grace.(Again, I recommend reading the whole chapter.)
  • Galatians 3:28  ‘There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.  If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.’

Ok, so you have the most important writings about the Jewish people.  There are many who adopt the replacement theology that twist these scriptures to meet what they believe.  That is an erroneous doctrine.  I will not debate that, and I can see the hate mail already.  But this is the way it is.  I adopt the attitude, quote “God said it, I believe it, it’s done.”  The apostles gave their life to teach this gospel of Christ throughout the known world at that time.  I believe the gospels, I believe the Bible, AND I STAND WITH ISRAEL AND THE JEWISH PEOPLE!

    thank you

    • Thank you, I can agree to an extent, we as Christians are the temple of the Holy Spirit. The new testament and the Apostles tell us that. But we don’t replace Israel. That said, and I’m going to get mail for this, but I don’t think that the Bible tells us that the 3rd temple has to be rebuilt in order for our Messiah to return, or in fact for the Antichrist to be revealed. And there are several reasons why I think that. The number one is Jesus said 2 things to the Jews of that day: “Your house shall be left to you desolate, until you recognize me.” Now I might have paraphrased, as I don’t have my Bible right in front of me, but that’s what he said. Then he told the disciples when they marveled at the Temple, “Not one stone will be left unturned.” Now, Jesus was very meticulous in His teachings, he did not say, Not one stone left unturned until the end when they rebuild it for the Antichrist…. That said, I still hold to my stance on Israel, it’s not for me to judge them. We do not replace them, we are grafted in to them. Paul is very explicit about this. And he cautions about treating them bad or as if they don’t count. In fact he say’s we stand in danger of our branch being cut off by God if we do. Thanks so much for the links and the comment. And I will look further into your links later, I’m short on time. God Bless.

      • Thanks for your patient reply.

      • Two pieces of Scripture that immediately come to mind for your support:

Ezra 3:3 and following… Sacrifice began BEFORE the temple was rebuilt. No temple necessary to re-institute sacrifice. Precedent has been set.

Regarding Messiah and binding ourselves to Israel: Ezekiel 37:24-28… If the Shepherd if King over Israel teaching Torah IN the land FOREVER, then I’m thinking a lot of people’s eschatology is messed up if they believe some other kingdom is coming…

Better stand w/ Israel, because that will be home! Abba is good for His covenant promises and the land will once again flourish, from the Euphrates to the Nile, etc…!! (Side note: Israel have never occupied the whole piece of property Yahweh gave to Avraham… That has yet to be fulfilled!)

        Shalom!

      • Thank you so much! God Bless!

  2. Amen!I stand with Israel too! I don’t know who are those heathen who send you hate mail, but who cares what they think? God bless Israel and all Israelites!
