Earthquake shakes up parts of New Madrid and Pemiscot counties

NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO (KFVS) –

Did you feel it?  A 2.7 earthquake rattled parts of New Madrid and Pemiscot counties Tuesday night.

The quake happened around 10:20pm Central time.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey website the quake was about one mile east of Hayward, Missouri and about four miles east-southeast of Portageville.

A number of people called the Heartland Newsroom to report feeling the earthquake but there are no reports of any damage.
